This is part of a series relating to the painting work I was doing at the same time, as well as the stereographs I was working with in the sculpture I made a bit earlier. These are scanned in, digitally abstracted stereographs of the midewest around the late 1900s. I tried to create a similar sense of decay using the break up of space that I had been experimenting with in my paintings, but with a different medium. The end result I think, of using old scanned in stereographs was both a feeling of personal nostalgia due to the old photograph quality that is maintained, but a certain sense of the new because it is obvious they have been digitally manipulated.
