Celebrity Baby Heads
2007
digital wall collage

This peice is based off of a book I was reading that was an analytical breakdown of what beauty is. According to this book, babies look a certain way to attract the attention of their mothers while they are totally helpless. Psychologically, humans find big heads, large eyes, and small mouths innocent and appealing. So I took these ideas and morphed exaggerated versions of these baby heads onto celebrity bodies, celebrities being another cultural standard of beauty. I put them in a forest, as if they were these rare creatures whose bodies had evolved but not their heads.
