I was looking at Chinese landscape painting when I made this. Many painters of the landscape in this genre paint everything with a similar line with the same attention, and the spatial quality is confusing on purpose so nothing gets pushed to the "front" of the picture, making everything on a conceptual basis equally important. I imagined the same would be in a disaster like a tsunami, where everything is chaotic and thrown around, so up and down, land and sea are completely mixed up.
