Many paintings of this time put a tiny human within them to accentuate the smallness of man compared to the vastness of the landscape. Instead of dwarfing a human in a lush and threatening wilderness, I have shrunk a truck in a melting and almost delicate glacial world. Instead of nature being a threat, now the man made object is.
